Description[edit]

Mons Letalis stands for "lethal mountain" and is named so for a reason. The harsh climate of Marus Seru extends up to this very high mountain range, where more powerful monsters have come to live. Also within the zone are the remains of an ancient teleporter of Combine design, its use lost in history as it is now mostly destroyed.

Dangers[edit]

The terrain is a constant danger, as you are nearly continuously taking falling damage.

This area also has many areas where creatures, usually ShikNars, will hatch underfoot while you are walking near them. This makes casual travel through the zone dangerous as well.

Benefits[edit]

Near the center of this zone is a large platform marked as #1 on the map. Underneath and on top of this platform are different levels of Spire spirits. This is one of the only spots in the game with a decent amount of mobs that will give + faction hits to the different Sanctus Seru factions without actually lowering your Katta faction. If you have an evil race I would recommend spending a day here killing these to make your movement in Sanctus Seru a bit easier (you become kos quickly however, so if you plan on raiding or farming reports for the Earring of Veracity quest in Sanctus Seru, it may not be worth the time to raise your faction). You can also farm essence of darkness for tradeskills from these spire spirits. At the higher levels they are light blue and easy enough to AE in groups for these purposes.
