Information the website collects

We collection information across Services to provide the user with such Services. The information we collect may include:

  • Email address
  • User name
  • IP address
  • Services access times, such as when a user logs in to an account and makes changes to a wiki page.

We collect information in 3 ways:

  1. Through you voluntarily providing that information through account creation;
  2. Automatically through your interaction with our Services; and
  3. By logging interactions with the website and the archiving of posts and submissions through our Services.

Information You Provide to Us

We keep and store the information you provide to us in order to deliver the services to you, such as game, forums, and/or wiki accounts.
The amount and type of information you are asked to provide to us may differ between the varied parts of the Services, which may include:

  • Basic Account Information: In order to use the services, such as the server or forums, you need to set up an account. This information includes an email address and user name; you may provide more information through a biography or by using the Services, such as posts in the forum; however, the extra information is not required to use the Services.
  • Wiki-specific Information: Anonymous users may make changes to the wiki. Any such interactions are logged and stored in order to evaluate the changes and to provide problem resolution in case any issues are found through the edits.
  • Public Profile Information: The user name you pick will be made public once you post on the forums. Any other information you include in your public profile will be open to the public, so please keep that in mind when choosing your user name and deciding what information you would like to share.
  • Content Information: Any information posted to the Services may be stored for archival and system-use purposes; for example, historical posts to the forums are available for years afterwards.
  • Communicating with TAKP Developers and Volunteers: You may also provide us information when you respond to surveys, communicate with our staff about a support question, post a question about your site in our public forums, or sign up for a newsletter. When you communicate with us via form, email, phone, or otherwise, we may store a copy of our communications (including any call recordings as permitted by applicable law).

Information We Collect Automatically

  • Log Information: Like most online services, we may collect information that web browsers, mobile devices, and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, IP address, unique device identifiers, language preference, referring site, the date and time of access and operating system. We collect log information when you use our Services.
  • Usage Information: We collect information about your usage of our Services. For example, we collect information about the actions that site administrators and users perform–in other words, who did what, when and to what thing on a site. Your IP addressed is logged if you make anonymous changes to the wiki, as noted above.
  • Stored Information: A cookie is a string of information that a website stores on a visitor’s computer, and that the visitor’s browser provides to the website each time the visitor returns. TAKP may collect and store and/or access that information as required to provide you access to our Services.

  • To Protect Rights, Property and Others: We may disclose information about you when we believe in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the property or rights of TAKP, developers and volunteers, or the public at large. For example, if we have a good faith belief that there is an imminent danger of death or serious physical injury, we may disclose information related to the emergency without delay
  • With Your Consent: We may share and disclose information with your consent or at your direction. For example, we may share your information with the Internet public, at large, which you authorize us to do so when posting to our Services or interacting in Alliance chat or other forms of communication which you voluntarily engage in while using our Services.

Due to the nature of the Services offered by TAKP, much of the information you provide may be shared publicly, as previously explained. TAKP developers, volunteers and support personnel will not dox users or otherwise provide personal information that is not explicitly authorized or that is not posted to well-known public Services (e.g., this wiki).

Information Retention

We may keep information connected to the Services indefinitely. TAKP developers and volunteers may also decide to purge certain information on an as-needed basis. Whether information is stored or deleted is dependent on many factors, some of which include:

  • Legal reasons
  • Technical limitations
  • Historical retention of information (e.g., forum posts)
  • And, as a way to enforce the rules.

TAKP developers and volunteers take security seriously. We do everything reasonably possible to protect and safeguard your information against unauthorized access, use, alteration or destruction of your information.
