It's important to do these steps in the listed order to build up faction. My Vah Shir had to use Sneak in order to turn in the first part and my Barbarian was indifferent to start, so was easily able to begin the epic quest. You must be Max Ally ("Your standing with True Spirit could not get any better.") before the final turn-in or you will lose the items. See Notes below for ideas to raise faction.

If you lose her, you can just go and wait for her there Do Not leave that spot, regardless of the following dialogue Safren the Soaked will spawn, talk to him to spawn Dillon the Drowned Speak to both Safren and Dillon to spawn Froham the Forgotten Speak with Froham to spawn Abe the Abandoned and receive A Broken Arrow The dialogue is broken, I had to swim after him and finish the dialogue without the proper final prompt to receive the arrow Finally, and eventually, speak to a greater spirit to receive a Small Gem
	Part 2: Test of Wisdom Kill Tabien the Goodly in Rathe Mountains to receive Marr's Promise Kill Glaron the Wicked and loot Woe and Envy Find a wandering spirit in West Karana and give it a Small Gem The hand Marr's Promise, Woe and Envy in to the spirit Ask the spirit about the Shield of Falsehood to receive it and then ask about "the last path" to receive a Sparkling Gem
