==Picking Your Race==
 
[[Wood Elf|Wood Elves]] are one of the two best races for druids. They lean towards being heavily mana based with good starting wisdom, and the best agility of all the races.  They get infravision, and also a native ability to forage.  Wood elves also have the ability to hide, though it doesn't raise beyond a minimal level in skill.
 
[[Half-Elf|Half-Elves]] are more melee based.  They aren't strong stat wise and are probably the weakest race overall in the druid class.  Half-Elves also get infravision.
 
[[Halfling]]s are the most popular druid race.  Halflings trade some intelligence and charisma for higher strength and stamina.  Halflings consume more food and drink, but that's less of an issue for druids thanks to [[forage]].  In return however they get infravision, basic hiding and sneak skills, and level slightly faster with their +5% exp bonus.  They also have the added bonus of hairy feet. Halflings cannot pick Tunare as a deity, so they cannot use [[Gloves of Earthcrafting]].
 
[[Human]] is the most well rounded druid race.  Human druids can be quite a competent and balanced character.  Their low agility and lack of night-sight however makes them a more burdensome character to play compared to other races.

recommended the following first 103 [[Alternate Advancement]] for new Druids. There is a lot of variety for this class so it is tough to choose. Your intended use for the Druid will dictate whether you are focusing on healing or DPS first. Healing Gift does not work on Druid CH spells sadly.
 
* Archetype – Spell Casting Mastery 3 (12 AAs) – Use less mana for all your spells.
 
* PoP Ability – Spirit of the Wood 3 (9 AAs) – Group heal over time and dmg shield that stacks with everything. Awesome group buff with relatively short reuse time, very useful for grouping and raids. Combine this with MGB on raids.
 
* PoP Ability – Radiant Cure 3 (12 AAs) – Group poison/disease/curse/detrimental cure. Important for PoP raid events.
 
* Class – Innate Camouflage (5 AAs) – Instant casting fixed-duration invisibility without a spell gem, I just love this AA.
 
* Class – Mass Group Buff (9 AAs) – Required for raiding, and lets you MGB Spirit of the Wood ability.
 
* Archetype – Spell Casting Fury 3 (12 AAs) – Everyone loves nukes, especially on raids since they stack infinitely
 
* Archetype – Spell Casting Reinforcement 3 (12 AAs) – Makes your buffs last longer and works for Spirit of the Wood to get extra ticks.
 
* Class – Spell Casting Reinforcement Mastery (8 AAs) – Further extend buffs and Spirit of the Wood ticks.
